Blue Mosque Front Door

Using color?

front door paint samples
Golly-geez…

It’s SOOOOOOOOO hard for me to use color.  {woka, woka}

IMAG1326
I went with one of these colors… Guess which one…

Blue Mosque Front Door 2
The Blue one… heh. heh. heh.

Blue Mosque Front Door
Yep.  Blue.  Actually, Blue Mosque by Sherwin Williams.

Front Porch
You can see it from the sidewalk… Heck. You can see it from the end of the bleepin’ street.

Front Door House
I know.  I broke the rules…again

Yes, it took me longer than 30 Minutes to paint the door.  It took three weeks actually… I was having dis-location anxiety syndrome  thinking we had somehow been hurdled through space and landed in Seattle or something.   UGH.

Anyway, here’s some color that only took about thirty minutes to infuse into my world….

Yellow Gerbera Daisy
Yeller and…

Red Gerbera Daisy
Red.

Mother’s Day.

Sigh.

Gerbera Daisies… My favorite.  As if you couldn’t tell…

So, let’s get get real for just a moment. Can you handle it?

I think people that are “afraid” of color…are not truly afraid of color…they are afraid of what other people will think about the color they use and how they use it…

So, Be BOLD, my bleeps, and COLOR YOUR OWN WORLD… you’re the one that has to live in it.  Right?

I so want to paint my front door – but i am stuck as to what color. Blue is out. But I love yours. Especially with that awesome swing. I totally stole that color your own world art – gonna use that as my mantra for some projects this summer. (:

Thanks so much, Gina!!! And go for it! As you can see, it took several samples before I took the plunge, but in the end, it’s just paint!

Rock it out and Be Bold! Color is wonderful…

I am CRAZY about that color. It makes the whole house look cheerful. That’s what you want in a house (Unless you are the Addam’s Family!). Great 30 minute fix. Now tell me why it takes me ALLLLL day long to paint a door?

      G-Dawg says:

      Thanks so much, Annie!!! No Addam’s family here… I hope! Did you read the part where it took me three weeks? UGH. Literally… At least it’s done, now and I can relax. {ha}

Yay for color! Yay for neon blue doors! Yay for orange teen rooms! Yay for fun and vibrant fabrics! I try to be subtle and tone on tone but it never goes there … I’m easily distracted by bright and shiny things …

    :)

You have an awesome day, my friend. Go break some rules.

What a beautiful blue door. It sets the tone for you and your house. It went for boring brown to bright, fun and cheerful blue. Definitely more like I would imagine your personality to be.

  9. 17

I love it! It is pretty much the same shade as my door. Which I think my husband doesn’t really like, but puts up with it. It definitely is noticeable!! It was funny…a few days after I bought my quart of paint, I noticed my neighbor a few doors down had painted her door the same color. So, not wanting to waste my paint, I put mine up. I got a NOTE from her a few months later saying could I consider changing the color of my door so “we could both stand out?” Like I really wanted to copy you!! My next thought is RED.

I am not afraid of color! I love your door…and your flowers!

DUDE! Your door is crazy cool! Who cares how long it took ya…it’s fabulous =)

  11. 21

Love it! It definitely screams “happy people live here”. Color scares me. I’m working on that phobia.

That is one beautiful front door Gwen. Mine is classic black, but it just looks like a cave opening – it needs color! If I wasn’t stuck on ‘one project at a time’, I’d be painting my front door today!

I love that color. Yay to you for going so bold. I didn’t want my door to blend in with the rest of the neighborhood either so I painted my door red.

GREAT colour! and how cool that you can see it from so far away! I love things that draw attention!
