The Event?
Decorating…  Hmmm… Let’s see what I gots…
I have an Orange Dining Room.

I hate Orange.  Like…exceedingly.  So why?  Why do I have an Orange Dining Room?

Because a cute little four year old wanted one.

Brendan

And so, I have an Orange Dining Room…

And curtains made out of Bedroom Material. Well, that’s what the color specialist at Ben Moore said..

Oh, Wells… They looks “Vintagy Monet”  to me… I love them and that’s all that freakin’ counts… right?

Curtains

And when I ran out of fabric, b/c I didn’t estimate properly was trying to save some money… Well’m, Improvisation at it’s finest, huh?

Curtains2

Oh, no….wait!  That was planned… I wanted them to be all droopy and show that green fabric.

The mistake was at the bottom, and dern it, if I don’t have a picture of that… Shoot-fire.  {snap}

Dining Room Wroght Iron

FYI… harsh lighting does not a good picture make…

But fabric remnants do look good on tables…

But almost rotten apples look gross up close…

But from far away… a lovely day. ha.

Polka dot vases?  Hmmm….

What could possibly be more fun???

Polka-dot curtains, my bleeps… Even on a hot summer day, I sit and pretend it’s snowing outside…

And be thankful that I can smile in my pictures unlike these fair relatives of mine… But THEY make ME smile…so it’s all good…

Old Pictures

No sideboard.

Shazamalicious Sideboardthanks, Cassie!  and Mirror.. and Daisies… My favsies…

Sideboard and Mirror

It’s our “formal” dining room… but we love it and thus we LIVE in it…

Messy Dining Room

And gosh dern it… it just would be

Daisy-Template

without it!

{as you can see, Orange has grown on me…Orange Daisies, more specifically

Oh, and pink ones…I’m all over Pink ones these days…}

Mom of year for painting your son’s choice!! And it’s a fab color to boot – he’s got style!

I let my girls choose their room color – hurts my eyes when I walk by their rooms but they love it!!

Thanks, Kelly! What else can you do? He was so insistent and sweet and I don’t regret it one bit! The boys both picked the colors in their rooms, too… It fits them and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

      You’re a good mom, too… sigh.

This orange dining room is to die for! That suzani leftover fabric on the table makes the room! And my personal favorites are the cute little details, like the polka-dots from the happy vase match the circles in the curtains :)

      G-Dawg says:

Thanks, Meeha! I’m struggling over what to do with that fabric~ I bought to make a Roman Shade in the kitchen, but I LOVE it on the table.. It’s fun to be surrounded by happy things, isn’t it? We all need more polka dots in our lives, I say!
