So did you link up with Jane or Bailey or Keri last week for the Kitchen Event? I linked up my Indoor Smores… MMmmmmm…. Wonder if I won an award?
The Bloggy Olympics, Week 3: Paint is here!
Along with a really fun giveaway {so read the ENTIRE post so you can get down to the bottom for the details…}
Make sure and go visit my Olympic Star teammates,
Cassie from

and
Katie from

They, my friends, are the real pros…
Apparently, I’m still in training…
And these boys… they be UGLY.
Bleepin’ UGLY.
Seriously…
Monstrously…
UGG. LEE.
And they are weeping hysterically because they got stuck with me.
And, by the way, how exactly do you paint Plastic Mirrors? If you’re ridiculously intelligent, you’ll just spray paint them.
I leave you to read the post and deduce my IQ.
Start with some High Adhesive Primer.
No, scratch that… Start by sanding… then prime.
Now, that is already an improvement…
That, however, is NOT. What paint did I use exactly, you ask?
This one.. or two or three or four…
or Five.
Had to call in the Cavalry to rescue me…
Except this cavalry musta been a bit tired and worn out…
Because things didn’t go quite as planned…
It wasn’t as forgiving as it has been in the past… Maybe it was mad at me for leaving it unattended in the scorching summer heat of the garage…
Oh, well.. It’s still better with the Glaze anyway…
So, break out your UGLY mirrors, and get your Paint on this week. Then come back for the party Next Thursday night… 8PM EST. I’ll have the other one ready and hopefully installed in their rightful and glorious places…
And if all you have are pretty ones, you can just paint any ole thing and link it up… that’s alrighty by me.
Now for the fantastic Giveaway!
Plaid is so awesomely giving away a 5 color assortment of Martha Stewart paint,
and 5 colors of FolkArt Extreme glitter.
Oh, the fun you could have with all of those…
Want it? Leave a comment to enter!
And tell alla yo’ friends!
The winner will be announced June 30th.
So, get to it…

Of course she was mad – you stuck her ugly self in the garage! Glad to see you put some lipstick on her so she can go out and party – better lock your doors so she doesn’t get any ideas!

Kelly @ Eclectically vintage recently posted..Exceptionally Eclectic – Artful Home
Ha! Poor girl! Her lipstick is a bit splotchy in places, but no doubt, she’d try to find a good party!
Doors locked. But I can’t promise there won’t be a party goin’ on inside…
ooo the color is pretty though! and you my friend are ballsy to just tape it off and paint it!
way to be bold. i screwed off my mirror and set it aside to spray paint it yellow. but in my defense the spray paint is all splotchy and awful b/c i was just going to use the frame for the photobooth prop at our wedding. i think i’ll go back and refinish it & hang it in the house!
this bloggy olympics is fun!

Oh, I thought about unscrewing all those screws… and just thinking about it made me tired! Let’s hope the mess I did make will come off… it usually does!
Go spray another coat on that baby! It will help… I usually have to do several if I’m just spraying.
I have a mirror that I am putting up today. I am going to spray it and copy you…oh sometimes the stars align. Love it!
janel@hatingmartha recently posted..Bloggy Olympics Event 3-Paint!
Can’t wait to see it! I shoulda sprayed this one… Lesson learned. I’ve spray painted about fifteen things this week, and dern it, if it isn’t sooooo much easier!!!
I’m a bit late to the Bloggy Olympics, but I’ll be checking back for sure! I love the turquoise!

Love the colour and it looks so fresh and modern now.Don’t you love a project when the primer is already an improvement? I’m visiting from Cassie’s Primitive and Proper and I will be back to link up a project. I also peeked around and I’m now following you.
Thanks Elizabeth! I’m so glad you dropped by from Cassie’s! That girl is just lovely!
I’m so glad you’ll be linkin’ up! Thanks for following… that’s really sweet!
Nice color. Put that color on something, instant beauty! Hmmm….what can I paint? Do I get extra points for painting in super hot weather?
Shasta Farrar recently posted..Circles and Pluses…What Does It All Mean?
Oh, yes… 10,000 extra points! It’s actually been so nice here, I’m afraid even talking about it will jinx it!
wow! lovely renovation! I’m feeling a bit boring that I’m doing everything in egg shell white now… maybe I should see about accent colours once I’m done!
Roanna recently posted..home improvements
Oh, Roanna! Yes, add some pops of color! That would be so much fun…
You know I love that color! A little glazing is pretty…wonder what else you did to them?? If I have an internet connection where I am next Thursday, I’ll be linking something up for sure

Jill @ Junky Vagabond recently posted..The Mudroom Reveal
OH, I hope you have connection! The glaze is makin it a bit iradescent. I’m going to have to live with it and see if I like it or not… but it is a HUGE improvement, dontcha think?
You crack me up, Gwen! And I would totally LOVE to win that stash of paint … I’ve got tons of mirrors and things that must be related to your poor previously homely mirrors

Too bad I’m not a cheater! Dern it!
very cool…paint on plastic…we paint plasitc at work a lot…so i’ve learned a thing or two about that…scotch brite works great for scuffing the surface so does primer for plastic…it makes it really stick…no mirrors to paint…do have other things that definitely could us some help…would love to try MS’s paints…
Thanks for the tips! Next time I’ll try that primer for plastic. So far the primer I used did the trick…so thank goodness! The glaze…hmmm… we’ll see! But I’ve loved it on everything else I ‘ve done. I’m sure it’s just the heat!
She’s all glammed up now so maybe she’ll forgive you for the hot garage.
FYI- chalk paint works on those old plastic things.
I’m waiting to see where you’re going to hang these girls…is glamour girl going on an orange wall perhaps?
Tina recently posted..Bruce the Goose
Let’s hope! I thought about the chalk paint, but was a bit worried b/c I waited till the last minute to do this! No time for a re-do, yo. UGH!
I think I know where they are going, but the big kahoona is sick and if I catch it, I”m SOL. NOOOOOOO!!!!!
I love the mirrors now! They’d look great in my bold dining room.

Ha! Thanks, Katie! Morgan is sick, and he is in the way to where I want to put them! What a bummer… He’d better get well, or I’m going to have to stand on his head and hang them up.
Secretly I hope they ended up done in your pear green with a bit of white.

Miss Ugly looks sooo much better in her turquoise and silver. I just painted a mirror with some gold MS glaze. My glaze was doing some weird stuff too…I wonder if it is the heat??? I’ll link the mirror on Thursday. Have a BOLD weekend!
Thanks, girl! Maybe it is the heat! It’s been fine on my other projects… I should keep it inside, I guess…
Can’t wait to see your mirror!!!

Why, Thank you, my friend. The color is quite amazing, and I hauled it into my bedroom, and THANK GOD IT WORKS. But I’m still stumped on the headboard. A friend just gave me some fabric and I’m going to be able to use it to upholster the headboard! OH, I’ll email you later.. no one else want to hear all of this!
Yo! G-dawg! WELL DONE on your BOLD-ly painted mirror! I can’t wait to see the other one and where you put them! Your timing for this event could not have been more perfect since I FINALLY finished the cabinet that I started back in FEBRUARY. Yep, that’s right, 4 months ago. Gosh, now that it’s in the bedroom, the hallway looks SOOO much more spacious! Now that I see your rockin’ glaze, I may have to undo the whole thing, haul it back out into the hallway, and get some to do a little “bling”. On second thought, maybe I’ll find a mirror. Thanks for the inspiration and for my ROCKIN new blog! xo

ha! Thanks, girl!!! You sound like me! I have projects that have been “under construction” for too long!
I have 8 chairs and a long, low, dresser to paint and get out of the garage before the snow flies or its gonna be a long winter scraping the ice from my car! Of course it’s going to be 100 degrees here Thursday. Literally, not kidding..that’s the forecast! Of course I do realize that the forecast really means nothing and it COULD snow Thursday because that’s about how accurate they are! Seriously, though, I’ve got time, right? I mean before the snow!? I keep telling my car to think of being parked on the driveway overnight as being at “summer camp”. xo

You did great with that ugly duckling of a mirror!
Thanks, Korrie! It was pretty quacky, wasn’t it?
Love them…especially the color! We must be sharin’ the same brain cuz I just painted my LR mirror a similar color

Great color…but I’m really not much of a painter. I think I have posted maybe twice about things I have painted and they both were Annie Sloan Old White. Not very adventurous! Maybe I can come up with something though…I’ve wanted to make my own chalk paint so maybe this is my calling!
