The before was quite nice, I confess, but being who I am, it just didn’t cut the mustard…

This room… this room is most definitely hodge-podge, as we Southerners like to say…

Greyhound Side Table from The Bold Abode

It’s a little bit Valdosta, GA.

A little bit curbside pick-up…

Stenciled Coffee Table

A little bit wedding gift…

Silver Bowl on Stenciled Coffee Table

A little bit Rustburg, VA…

Freecycle Dresser

Freecycle dresser…  Love the after.  The before got lost both in my camera and my mind.

{Thank you, Cassie, oh painted furniture guru, for the advice}

Dresser as a Sofa Table

But this one is a sturdy fellow and very well-made…

Hi Gwen! I am in love with your home…your spirit and the eclectic furnishings and finishes you have! I too love to shop in second-hand stores as you find such wonderful pieces you can recreate and bring back to life with a little paint or stain! I look forward to the transformation of your home and the crafty ideas you come up with! Good luck with everything…Sandra xoxo

Hi! I love the family room and am partial to that way cool dresser. That combo of white and wood on mid century pieces is just what the doctor ordered for them. I’m delivering a monster sized mid century credenza this week that was painted in a similar way and it’s just right. I also like your greenish-yellow in the background of one of your pictures!

Wow, Martha. Thank you so much.

I’m totally in love with Mid-century. It was a thrilling day when i scored that lovely dresser!

That green is Pear Green from Benjamin Moore. It makes me happy…

Thank you, thank you, Courtenay! I’m really pleased with it…finally!

I totally used the same hex color as my paint. I wanted it to flow with my home, and most of it is painted in that Moody Blue. I’m thrilled that you noticed!

I do so love vintage quilts! They’re soooooo soft!

I love it! Decorating with bits and pieces is the best, because it’s all stuff that’s meaningful. :-) And yes, I love coke bottles! But I’ve only ever found glass ones in Mexico…so it’s not the easiest craft supply I suppose.

First of all, I love coming here. It’s happy. Second, I think your room is awesome! The lamps in front of the windows are perfect. I’ve wanted one of those quilt ladders for a long time for my grain sacks. I think it’s wonderful especially since the quilt is an heirloom. So cool. <3

I love your warm, personal touches…the ladder and quilt add so much (sorry, Morgan!) as do your quirky little happenings. I enjoy your home because it’s very representative of who you are. Warm and quirky! What’s not to love?
So, so happy that you are back!

Great room! I love salvaging old furniture and turning it into something that fits in with our decor. I picked up a free cabinet beside the road and doctored it up. My hubby might have thought I was having a moment of insanity – until it was finished and fit perfectly in our living room :)

Thank you Becka! It wasn’t hard at all… you just create cones our of paper and glue them all around your form. I used that grey pipe insulation and duck-taped it into a circle. It wasn’t a very difficult or time-consuming project. Go for it!

Oh, Thank you Holly! You’re such a sweetie! The wreath didn’t take that long, maybe a couple of hours or so? I did it right before Christmas for Christmas and couldn’t take it down. Now, I’m glad I kept it up.
