How to Organize Your Household Manuals

I’ve been on a massive organizational mission the past few months and came across my stack of user manuals in the kitchen cabinet.
They were all just piled into a plastic basket with no rhyme or reason to them. And there were some really, really old ones there just cluttering up my space!
What a mess!
So I came up with a better way to organize them while keeping them in the kitchen. I don’t really have any filing cabinets in the house, but I’d like to change that very soon.
My brilliant and oh-so-novel idea was to use a notebook and plastic page protectors. (Ok. So maybe it’s neither brilliant nor novel, but it works like nobody’s bidness.)
First, I sorted through the manuals and trashed the ones I didn’t need anymore… like the old manual I had for a smoothie maker that broke about 8 years ago.
Then started putting the manuals I wanted to keep in the page protectors.
But there were some that were very thick and unwieldy. In that case, I ripped them apart to keep only the English sections since that’s my jam.
I grouped them as best I could by category. So I kept all the laundry type manuals together and all the kitchen appliance type manuals together and so on.
I put all the pages in my notebook. After decluttering them and ripping out the unnecessary parts, the notebook was pretty full but not overly so.
Here’s all the trash I had leftover!
Then I went through and added stick on labels to the sections to make things easier to find.
My notebook was finished.. but, alas, plainer than Jane on a twin engine plane.
Can’t have that, right? So I created a fun Household Manuals Printable. My notebook has a plastic sleeve on the outside where I could slide it in, and it’s protected.
I thought I’d share this printable with all my fellow organization freaks!
