On Fear

Read my full disclosure here.

Fear is a paralyzing, life-sucking joy-stealer.

It keeps you looking back and dwelling on the past, which only demobilizes and frustrates.

The only way to move forward, to grow, to bloom is to trust your gut…to reach down in your soul and find the stout-heartedness to believe in yourself and your dreams.

It’s not a matter of learning from your mistakes, but embracing them for who they have made you.

lose-your-fear-of-being-wrong

Losing the fear of being wrong

is like breaking the shackles from an innocent prisoner and setting  her free to return home to her loved ones and her life yet unlived.

This is the life I seek, and the life I hope you will choose to pursue.

A life that marches to a different beat…

A life that sings a brand new song…

A life that travels that Road Less Traveled…

be-bold-and-touch-the-stars

A life that moves and breathes and hopes and dreams and reaches out to touch the brilliant stars.

And so, as we seek to be brave…to be strong…to be courageous…let us fashion “dikes of courage to hold back the floods of fear” just as Martin Luther King, Jr proclaimed.

But it’s burdensome, this building of the dikes….alone.

How much lighter, though, when done with kindred-spirits!

Will you join me?

Great post Gwen, and very timely…I’ve been debating stepping outside of my comfort zone with my blog soon and was feeling nervous about it. Love the new look too!

      Oh, Thank you, Melissa!

And I say, GO FOR IT! Swallow those nerves and you’ll do GREAT. You already are, so I’m so curious about what you have planned!!!

Oh my gosh. This is amazing and in my humble opinion, totally you. It was like a breath of fresh air when I opened this new blog. As far as the fear aspect goes, some days I deal better with it than others. When the doubts creep in I just have to take a minute and shut them down. Sounds like you are doing just that. I am so happy for you!

    • Gwen says

      Mar 3 at 9:05 pm

Thank you, thank you, Ann! That is exactly what I was going for… a breath of fresh air! I’m so glad it’s rendering that way…

And oh, the doubts are so incredibly sneaky aren’t they? They can creep in even when you’re guarding against them!

Oh, you’ve got it in you, girl! It is not easy, though, I can honestly say…

Thank you so much! I’m so happy with how it turned out. I feel like a new blogger!

Am I missing something? Why do I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t know where the heck you’ve been?? Is it because of the new blog look (which is awesome, BTW)? I’ve been worrying over you for days, wondering where you were! Well, never mind. You’re back, lookin’ and soundin’ GOOD, and I’m glad! Dona
