The Genius in Your Head

You know you have a genius in your head, right? And he sits quietly up in the back part of your complicated and mysterious mind just waiting for a chance to get a word in edgewise.

And he sits so silent and unmoving, that you may never even know he’s there.  But if you listen…listen close enough, you can hear him talk in the quiet whispers of your thoughts and gentle nudges in your heart.
He might even YELL at time or two.

But if you’re too busy listening to your own devils, you just might not hear him.  At least, not clearly. And let me tell you, this little guy is so full of ideas and courage and vision.

And you see, he’s the one who tells you to step out and find a path to help your fellow travellers along the way…providing a place for them to connect and support and guide one another.

He’s the one who stirs your heart to tell your story…and tell it in such a way that it liberates you from your demons and shares your pain so others feel as if they know you and love you and feel with you a kindred spirit of hope and beauty.

He’s the one that nudges your whimsy and sends you in a frenzy to tweet with a beat at old Bob Villas feet.

He’s the one that ushers you out…Out into the world with your craziness and your vivaciousness and your love of life to bleed humorous wisdom all over the place.

He’s the one that says to you…listen.  Listen… for she needs you to reach out your heart to hers and meet her where she is…in real and raw moments of honest reflection.

And he’s the one…He’s the one that whispers… Paint the world in Rainbows cuz if you don’t someone else will.

And when you feel him stir…in your mind or in your soul…you better, stop. Perk up those dainty little ears of yours and have a moment or two of silence so you can listen.
