These little pumpkins are so easy to make! Let’s see what it takes:
What do you need to make these mini pumpkin cakes?
- A mini bundt pan
- Buttercream icing
- Small batch of white fondant
- Gel food coloring
- Yellow or Pumpkin Spice Cake Mix
- Plastic spiders or other buggy decorations
How to make mini pumpkin cakes:
- First, mix your batter according to the directions on the box and bake in your mini bundt pan.
- Allow to cool completely.
- While they are cooling, take your white fondant and split it in half. Knead on part with a tiny bit of green coloring and the other with a tiny bit of brown coloring.
- Roll the green out in a thin layer and cut leaf shapes. Pinch a bit off the brown color and roll into a stem shape, making one for each cake.
- Make your buttercream icing and pipe a layer on the bottom of one of the cakes. Place another mini bunt cake on top. Decorate with stem, leaves and bugs.
And that’s it! What an easy treat for your Halloween party.
Can I make these for Thanksgiving, too?
Absolutely! Just leave off the bugs and they’re ready for your Thanksgiving celebration! These would be a sweet addition to your holiday spread.
