How can you live a BOLD life, if you can’t find your shoes?

Eons ago, I was a fly-baby.

I was ON. TOP. OF. IT. Baby.

My life was like a well-oiled machine and my house was so flippin’ clean and clutter-free, Mr. Carson, himself would approve!

Wellllll….  after a few years, I thought I had it down pat.

And I began to cut corners… and not look at my lists…

And I fell into the black pit of disorganization and CHAOS: Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome.

Having a newborn that never-ever-ever slept, wasn’t easy, and I forgot that well-developed routines are actually incredibly liberating.  I forgot that planning ahead made life easier.

I miss it…  Being together. Feeling like I’m working it with three finger snaps in a ‘Z’ formation.

So, I’m taking my life back.

I’m getting organized, yo.

I’m going to put together an organizational binder, similar to Flylady’s Control Journal, but with my own splash of “me-ness”.

Over the next few weeks, I’m making my personal, printable lists, and I’m going to share them with you.

Now, usually, I only offer my printables to my email subscribers.  But this time, I’m going to post a downloadable version right here for everyone.  And when I have it all together, I’m going to put it in one big Printable Pdf, and that version will be available only to my email subscribers.

So it’s a bit of a compromise.  It will still pay to subscribe via email.

So get to it, baby!

Be bold and subscribe.

Later today, {around 4:30 EST}  I’m sharing with you my Before Bed Reminders Printable.

The key is not to start all in one fell-swoop.  It is to start small.  Flylady says to start with shining your sink.

Every. Night.

And I’m here to say that this works.  When I was deep in the full swing of it, I spent relatively little time cleaning and cooking and slaving away.

Without my routines, I spend more time thinking about and fretting over what I should be doing than the actual time it takes to work the program.

How can you live a BOLD life, if you constantly tell yourself it’s too much?

You can’t do it all from day 1. You have to build up to it.  Start small.

Start with one task.

You can shine your sink, or wipe the counters, or clean off the kitchen table.

It works.  I’ve done it.  I’m going to do it again.

But I’m not here to reinvent the wheel. If you want to know more about Flylady, the philosophy and program, visit the brains behind the method.

I’m just making my own printables and sharing them with you… to get on the road to freedom.

Are you with me?

  1. good for you!!!! i need to get more organized… but i am not close to ready! 😉 maybe i should go shine my sink.

    1. I’m a mess. Not completely, because some of it stuck and became good habits, but I’m no where close to where I was.

Get to it. Shine, baby, shine!

  2. I never got past the “lace your shoes” every morning requirement. But I know fully well when I do, I am more successful. I just don’t like wearing tennis shoes! Got any advice for overcoming that one? But…I’m in!

    1. Um. {I take the 5th on the lacing up of the shoes…} I need to find a cute pair that sorta laces up.

I’m from TN and you know how we feel about shoes, right?

      1. I was having a hard time with the whole shoe idea too… so I bought myself a pair of the tennis shoes that tone your legs and bottom as you wear them. These are the “get dressed to lace up shoes” that I put on when I start my day, and I feel like I am accomplishing two goals in one!

    2. why bother to lace them up -I just put elastic in mine and tie up the ends [once] then slip them on and off…done !

    1. Yeah, baby! Let’s go!

I’m keeping them simple, so they’ll be easy to print and use. I’m so looking forward to getting back in the saddle and flowing through life!

    1. You go girl! I’m like a deer in headlights when it comes to meal plans… but I’ll get there!

    1. I totally feel ya, girl! But let me say, that this system works. You start with one little thing and then add stuff as you go along. You build on it and soon, it’s really easy.

It works, and I’m proof. I’m naturally a total mess. If I can do it, anyone can!

    1. Thanks girl! I love the click to tweet! I found that little tip on Social Triggers… He’s full of great little tidbits!

  3. I totally know about babies that never ever sleep. Mine is now 42 years old and I still have post natal depression over it! I am quite ill (not because of the PNT!), so can only do little things at a time, but know I have to get organized before I go mad! I used to do Fly Lady so am looking forward to your printables

    1. Let’s do it together, Susan! By adding just one thing at a time, we can get organized and work it!

      Babysteps, right?

  4. I would really like to download the checklist but am unable. I don’t want to sign up for the emails again.

  5. Thanks so much for the printables. You have done such a great job. They are really easy to read and attractive for my binder. I too love the Flylady system and it really does work – if you stick with it!! 🙂

  6. FLYLady! She’s one of the ones I forgot to mention in my answer to your question about other blogs you read. I think I discovered her on YouTube around the same time I discovered all the other ones I mentioned. Or maybe slightly before. Can’t remember. Oh well. Anyway, yes, she is awesome! I am so going back and reviewing those videos, because I really need them right now. Hope you still have the printables! 😀
