What’s cookin’ good lookin’?
Not too much…
But that’s alright, dear Bold One…
It’s the looks that count, right?
Have I mentioned my obsession for pretty aprons?
Oh, yes… maybe once or twice.
But have you seen my Spring Colored Mixing Bowls? sigh….
Doesn’t everyone have empty Giant Tomato Cans and a frosted glass filled with paintbrushes by the sink?
No? Hmmmm…..
I really can’t complain. This is a nice spot… especially if you just have to wash dishes…
You can whistle while you work…
Tweet, tweet…
We’re not too fancy here… just a couple of re-purposed Magnetic Chalkboard Clipboards hangin’ out together…
And some Killer Art… along with a reminder to give myself permission to make mistakes…
Which I do.
A lot.
See? No fancy Spice holders… not yet anyway.
But we are just chalk full of crazy people… overflowing, if you must ask.
Thank you, Jill, {a year later} for the amazing caddy you made me…
Yes. I know. I should add some gourmet recipes to my repertoire…
I didn’t have to do much in here. I just painted and added some curtains and canisters and some pretty bowls…
Would I change anything, if I could?
Why yes. I would. And there are lots of little projects that I want to do just floatin’ around in my head.
But, honestly, after the mice-ridden, crumbling counter-top, washer-in-the-kitchen rental homes we’ve lived in over the years, I feel guilty even thinking such thoughts…
I’m blessed.
So, dear Bold Ones…
Although there may not be too much cookin’ around here, at least it’s pretty good lookin’….
Just like you.

So pretty! The cupboards are beautiful and your spice canisters are happening…the coolest of the cool!
Thank you, Janel! Aren’t those Spice containers just the coolest? Haha! I am going to get some prettier ones one of these days!
love your accessories! especially the paintbrushes by the sink, because i have those, too. really all the cool people are doing it. 🙂
your kitchen is pretty and classic and i love the fun accents!
Thank you, Cassie! I know you must have a slew of paintbrushes all over! It IS the cool thing to do, yo…
Lovely kitchen Gwen!
Thank you so much, Anne!
Love it! And especially love the ‘crazy people’ you have!! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Dona! Man, we do have some crazy people over here!
Love your kitchen Gwen! Wish I could by for a cup of coffee or tea and dish in your cozy kitchen!!
Thank you girlie! Anytime you are in the neighborhood, just stop by! Hehe! {And man, we could definitely dish, couldn’t we? }
What a beautiful kitchen Gwen! I love it when bloggers give home tours 🙂
Thank you so much, Eileen! I’m working on it a little at a time!
Glad I am not the only one who has NOT succumbed to painting their cabinets…your kitchen is lovely! – and we have a few too many crazy people in our kitchen somedays too!!
Thank you so much, Cheryl! { I do secrectly wish I could paint them… I am not a big fan of the dark cabinet/dark countertop combo… but I can’t bring myself to do it! }
And Crazy people do make life more fun!
I love all the little accents in your kitchen! That birdhouse is too cute.
Thank you, Vanessa! That little birdhouse was a last minute addition, but I think it’s staying! Yay for spontaneity!
Looks fantastic! My kitchen is the repository for everything in the house-makes for a happy family and that is a bold, lovely life.
Thank you, Jane! And you are so right!
I love your kitchen, so warm and cozy. I love pretty aprons too and like how you have yours displayed. I’ve got paint brushes by my sink (and usually do). No empty cans, but now I’m curious about them.
Thank you so much, Marti! I’m so glad to hear I’m not the only one with paintbrushes everywhere!
I buy the tomatoes in those big cans from Sams, and I am determined to use them in the Kitchen… I think they are so cool looking!
I love your kitchen! It looks like real people live there. So many things I see posted around the web look so “done” and, well, kind of lacking in character. I think yours is wonderful in it’s coziness. Makes me want to pull up a chair and chat.
Thank you, Kim! Man, we do really live here for sure!
You are so sweet!
I love your kitchen. It’s welcoming and not fussy, yet so much better than my non-existent kitchen.
Thank you so much, Magali! 🙂
OK…one of those projects better not have anything to do with paint going on those cupboards. They are gorgeous! Loved your tour. I might just have to feed your apron obsession some day. 🙂
I have a real problem. I need help!
Ummm… I do secretly want to paint them, but I can’t bring myself to do it… But I might pull down the two cabs by the sink, put them in the laundry and do open shelving…
Maybe.
Thanks, Ann!
What a gorgeous kitchen! I loved all the pics. Those green bowls….yummy!
Thank you, Lucy! I’m gaga over those bowls!
great looking kitchen for sure!
Thank you, Daniela!
I LOVE those green mixing bowls! Great kicthen G..thanks for having us over today! 🙂
Thank you, Bonnie! Aren’t those bowls so freakin’ fun? Love, baby…serious and deep in love.
Your kitchen is so warm and inviting.
Thank you so much, Val!
I think your kitchen is wonderful. It’s stylish. Functional. The glamour kitchens you see in the magazines are great to look at; but after spending a fortune getting them to look that way, who wants to mess them up by actually using them? Lol. Your kitchen is tastefully realistic. I am in love with your cabinets, btw. They are exactly what I am looking for in my fixer-upper kitchen.
Thank you so much Mommaluv! I can’t imagine having anything else but a kitchen we can actually live in and use!
“But, honestly, after the mice-ridden, crumbling counter-top, washer-in-the-kitchen rental homes we’ve lived in over the years, I feel guilty even thinking such thoughts…”
That quote from you…………. Hits home for my husband and I! We just knocked down our first home. It was pretty rank. We too had our washer and dryer in the kitchen. I know this is normal over seas and in apartments.. but not when you live in the middle of nowhere like us and have room to spread out! 🙂
Whenever I go to complain about something I wish we could change with the new house, I stop myself. Right there. It could always be worse.
Love your kitchen! I like how you have kept it function and added touches of color and your personality.
I saw your comment about painting your kitchen cabinets on a ‘how to paint cabinet’ tutorial and thought I would be nosy and take a look. It’s very cute now but that style of cabinetry looks wonderful white. So you have to let that project keep swirling around your head. I’m going to do mine too but haven’t posted pictures of my house yet. Stay tuned!
Great “losing fear” quote! Never heard it, great reminder!
