Home Sweet Home…
Some like it HOT… and apparently that includes the residents of The Bold Abode.
Because this room is smokin…
Now you might think that in a home of boys, this would be a big no-no, right? Well, let me tell you something.
Morgan suggested I paint this room pink.
Yes. He did…
Come on in and let me show you ‘round!
I didn’t realize how much I had done in this room until I started organizing it…
Clutter has a way of burying the good…
Like this two-sided desk we use for our educations endeavors…
Oh, how I wish I had a before of this treasure.
But that bad boy above was before I ever knew that DIY blogs were in existence. Blurg.
But these little babies…
They were among the first of the crazy-pants posts I wrote…
Oh, and this desk on the wall? It was a flagship post as well…
And let me say… All the time I spent sawing off desk legs with a hand saw?
Totally worth it.
{But now I have a Black & Decker JS660 Jig Saw with Smart Select Dial and a Ryobi Skill saw …cuz I will never hand saw again if I don’t have to.}
Below is a sofa table given to me by my friend, Donna. It needs a little more help, methinks…
Like some new pulls….and some paint over that stained edge…yuck.
I did try, though. I really did.
At 2:00 you’ll see some gallery shelves that I made.
I hated the way the colors of some of the books looked against the pink wall, so I never really shared them.
Still hate it. Just don’t care anymore… Oh, how I’ve grown.
Closet.
Stuff… lots of it.
The added shelves were tots worth it. I need 10 more.
I’d like to interject before moving on to page 2 and my giant W, that Tommy, our music teacher, told me upon his first visit to our home, that it looked like it should be in a Dr. Suess book… Now there’s someone that gets me.
On the back wall, is my sewing/junk cabinet.
It, too, a before The Bold Abode up-do…
And what would our Home Sweet Home be like without a Giant W from Joann’s.. I was shockered that it was only around 10 bucks.
Gotta have a giant W…
And this Office/Sewing/Craft room doubles as a school room, so I kept the Eric Carle Animal Flash Cards…
And so does this art…
We do loads of art projects… NOT.
I have boys.
Boys that do not like to color.
But I love photographing crayons. Aren’t they so pretty?
Here is the ugly side.
Not the cute little sign that Tina gave me… but the ugly whiteboard and disgusto brown bookshelf.
Those need help. And help is a’comin’… someday.
Yes. I still hide stuff behind doors…
And in cabinets…
But I’m working on it. Is there a Shove Stuff in Cabinets Anonymous Group?
But all in all…
And we do our best not to get heat-stroke…
Plans for this room in my Home Sweet Home? Yes, baby.
I’m dreaming thinking make pooling curtains, rip out the carpet, find a cool rug, put in a new light and install 2/3 White Board and Batten in this room.
Then maybe, I won’t need shades to teach.
Want your own smokin’ office? Paint: HOT by Sherwin Williams.

Thanks, girl! I tell ya… I have so much junk, I don’t know what to do with it!
Dr. Seuss is happy…what a great compliment!! Love that desk…love love!
Thank you so much Janel! I have loved that desk so much!

I was going to do this to Dr. Seuss rhyme but it’s not coming to me so I’ll just say I am the President of the SSCAG … Shove Stuff in Cabinets Anonymous Group.
Bliss
Haha! We should have a weekly meeting… ugh!
Oh Gwen, I can’t begin to tell you how I love it! Mine is still builder-grade white (as is the whole house). Trust me, I can’t do anything with the rest of the house because my daughter and I share the house. But my craft room? MINE , I tell you, MINE! “As God is my witness I’ll never look at white again”! (Isn’t that what Scarlet said? I’m sure it was something like that.) Anyway, my favorite view of your room is the first one on the second page…where you can see out the door to the ‘green’ room and past that to the ‘yellow’ room. I want to live at your house, ‘k?
OH, Dona! Thank you so much!
I still have some builder white walls…ugh! Get in that Craft Room and add some color!
I didn’t mention it in the post, but that is my favorite view in the house, too… I’m so glad you noticed it as well. I was wondering if anybody would!
Gwen. That is not just pink… that is “P-i-n-K!” Such a gorgeous shade. It’s got such depth. It really is so, so pretty! It makes the whole room warm, vibrant and exciting.
Oh, girl! Tell me about it. I can just see some white board and batten with that pink up top! I am so itching to do that…
Thank you so much, Shan!
I have a spare room that I’m going to turn into my small studio. It’s been on my list of “to do’s” for quite some time. Your room is so pretty, and functional! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Thank you, Eileen! It is sooooo nice to have an extra room for crafts and stuff! I never thought I would have one…
You’ve been a busy bee, GwennieLoo Who!
I love that shade of pink…I’ve been trying to find a velvet in that shade that has proved almost impossible. It’s always close, but not right. Bravo for finding the paint color, it’s like raspberry sorbet. Or snozzberry.
Your life is good sign looks really cute in there. 😉 And your junk is very organized IMO!
OH, Tina! I’ve been working my tail end off… but most of that room has been done for a while.. I’ve just been afraid to share it… But I decided I needed to live my blog, forget about it and be bold!
I love that sign. Thank you so much for all the amazing things you sent! I will be sharing more in the near future, girl!
Think Pink!! Love this wall color Gwen! So you and so bold!!
Oh, think, live and breathe pink in this room, chickadee!
Gwen..it does look HOT …I love it and all the pops of color! Your room totally rocks!
Haha! Thank you Bonnie! It’s is so bright!!!
This room has you written all over it Gwen – I LOVE it! How can you not be inspired by all of the fun stuff?! Love the flash cards and the big W … and just about everything!
Thanks, girl! It’s certainly IN YO FACE… hahaha!!!
I love seeing all the bright colors in your house. Pink, green, and yellow! Awesome!
My DR is bright yellow!
Oh, they are bright, aren’t they!
I’ll have to pop over and find your dining room! I do so love a nice yellow!
Love your PINK office. I especially love the picture that show you hall and dining room. Oh, and I don’t just have closets and cabinets stuffed with junk . . . I have rooms too! I better join that support group quick!
Thank you, Laura! I tell ya… that junk is hard to keep under control!!!
Love the BOLD pops of color, Gwen! And everything looks so organized. What a great room.
Warmly, Michelle
Thanks so much, Michelle! It was organized… for that day! hahaha!
I love the color of this room, how fun!!! And I can’t believe a house full of boys and you were able to pull it off!! FABULOUS JOB!
Thank you so much, Kayla!
The boys actually never said a word… what troopers!
Looking good Gwen! I am slowly working on my craft room too…but am so stuffed to the gills with STUFF, I can’t even maneuver in there. Not exactly inspiring me to keep going, but I’m looking at your room and getting some ideas…
Gwen you are so BOLD! When I saw this post on Hometalk yesterday I thought it was red but this is a crazy HOT PINK! You have done some cool things in this room. I think it’s awesome cool. 🙂 I love Eric Carle art too 😉
This office is so cute. What a fun color on the walls and I love the sofa table with a checker top.
Love it! Absolutely love the color of the wall. Most of the walls in my house are boring, but my office walls are bright aqua. Isn’t it fun?
Don’t start all over! This office is smokin’. It’s hot AND it’s happy, and lawd knows that combination is hard to find. It feels so “Gwen” to me, which is obviously way, way fabulous!
You are totally making me laugh! Thank you, girlie!!!
I do think it needs some up-scaling… just a little… like a totally awesome tea-light chandy, maybe? hehehe
I have read so many articles on the topic of the blogger lovers however this paragraph is truly a nijce piece of writing,
keep it up.
I have been browsing on-line greater than 3 hours as of late, yet I never found any attention-grabbing
article like yours. It’s lovely value sufficient for
me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you probably
did, the web will be much more helpful than ever before.
My bedroom is actually painted this exact color. I was going for red, which I think it is more red than pink, but I instantly remembered the name! I love it. We accent with black and cream. Very rich and romantically bright!
Sounds gorgeous, Michele! I love this color so much!
