I told you.
I told you yesterday that I had kept something back.
How in the Blessed Sunday Sunday could I have kept ALL the walls white? Nerp. It’s just not in my DNA.
Did you see the partial reveal yesterday? No?
Quick. Take a look and see the white walls.
And, for heaven’s gates, don’t look below at the photo.
{Which you are probably doing right now out while you are reading the blasted sentence. Am I right?}
Haha. I’m no suckah. So I put a picture of the colors that I used instead.
But here I am throwing my arms open wide to the wind. Or I would be, if I had thought about dragging the tripod out…. so you get Brendan instead. 🙂
TA-DA!
Sing it with me now.
What a feeling
Being’s believing
I can have it all
Now I’m paintin’ for my life
Take your passion
And make it happen
Pictures come alive
You can paint right through your life
I used four different colors and just tried to get a nice, good balance throughout the stencil.
Here’s a peak into the window of my dance party with The Herringbone Shuffle Stencil.
- First I tried just taping with no adhesive spray on the back. I got some bleeding. Probably due to trying to use a brush.
- Then I tried the spray adhesive… a good amount. This cut down on the bleeding, but I still had some seepage.
- Then I switched to a sponge and that helped even more.
- Then I had a lightbulb moment. I realized that no amount of adhesive or careful application was going to give me crisp and clean lines because I have these ridiculous TEXTURED WALLS!
So I sat in the prayer pose and became at one with the hand-painted effect.
Ommmmm…….
These little guides are realllllly something special…. think built in GPS for you brain.
I just wanted a surprise accent.
Surprise!
{Yes. I vacuumed. Just for you.}

Hi! New sub here. I absolutely love this! How many times do you see herringbone in the blogosphere? Tons. But I’ve never seen it like this!! I love the colors you chose, it’s not too bright, but not too bland. I can’t imagine how long this took! Boy you must have some killer patience. Oh my gosh Gwen, I absolutely love that wall! The colors you chose are perfect, and I love how it just sorta trails off after the doorway. Gorgeous!!! If I were going to get a stencil, I’m seriously in love with all of the damask ones, but I think the Ornamental Cartouche stencil is my favorite!
