Here’s a quick look at this episode:
In this episode, I’ll show you a quick and easy technique to get to a place of appreciation and gratitude!
Let’s go on a Rampage!
Well hello there! Welcome back to the redefining Bold podcast. You're listening to episode number __ and I'm your host Gwen Whitfield from theboldabode.com, where I help warm-hearted women take small steps toward positive lasting change!
Have you ever gone on a full-blown rampage? What comes to mind when I said that?
Can you see the big - green - rippling muscles running through the streets of New York, turning over cars and pounding huge potholes into the pavement, fomenting chaos all around?
The thing about a rampage is that it escalates and escalates until the emotional energy explodes.
It can be a very dangerous episode when that rampage is fueled by negative energy like anger.
But what if… what if we used the concept of a rampage but put positive energy, the energy of gratitude behind it?
Do you have a gratitude practice? In the last few years, I’ve been seeing so many online influencers talk about it and encourage living from a place of gratitude.
It can start to seem a little hack, can’t it?
But here’s the honest to God truth.
Like it really works. Today, I want to introduce the “rampage of gratitude”. I learned this technique about 5 years ago when I was introduced to Esther Hicks. And just thinking about doing it pulls me up into a better place.
Now, you can “rampage” any type of feeling that you want to invoke, but I do think that gratitude is so very powerful and when I do this, it puts me in such a joyful and appreciative state. It just feels so good.
So, today, I’m going to do a short rampage of gratitude for you so you can try it out for yourself and see what kind of impact it has on your life!
Even when or if you are feeling very lost and alone and like there is nothing good going on in your life, you can start from the place that just feels better than where you are right now. Appreciate what ever you can, whatever pops into your mind.
So here goes:
I’m thankful for today.
I’m so thankful that I woke up and that I’m breathing.
I’m thankful for each breath I take
I’m so thankful for my family and for my boys and the love that we have.
I’m so glad we have a roof over our heads and enough food to eat.
It feels so good to know that we are okay.
It feels good to know that I have these things to be thankful for.
I’m so glad to have this day and this chance to take care of my home and my family.
I’m so glad to have my health and be working towards being even healthier.
It feels so good to know that I have come so far with my health.
I love knowing that I can take care of myself and my family.
I love taking care of myself and my family.
I’m so thankful for the opportunity to take care of myself and my family.
I’m so thankful for this life.
I’m thankful for the sun and the blue sky and the birds and the trees and my kitty cats.
I’m so incredibly thankful and grateful for this breath that I’m taking right now.
It feels so good to breathe and be alive.
I’m just so thankful for all that I have and all that I am.
I’m keeping this rampage of gratitude fairly general, but you can list out everything that comes to mind that gives you that sense of feeling grateful.
It doesn’t matter how little it might be, if it lifts you up, then put it on your list!
You can write it down and read it each day or you can just make it up on the fly. It doesn’t matter one bit.
The amazing thing about this technique is that you can do it whenever you start to notice feeling off or down or frustrated. Any kind of negative feeling at all.
Life is so much easier to navigate when we are facing its challenges from a better feeling place. Even if that place is just millimeters from where you started.
I sure can do the laundry angry. I can whine and gnash my teeth and get it done. The washer and dryer will do its job just fine. But being mad and frustrated is no way to spend our lives. Yes, anger has its place, but we can find better solutions, more easily when we're in a more positive and hopeful state.
Besides, feeling good feels so much better than feeling bad, right?
Thanks so much for listening and I’ll see you in the next episode!
