Taking the Other Road…

I came upon a road, a forked path in the quiet of the woods. And I was sorrowful, because I so wanted to see what was down beyond the bend both ways.
But, that, I knew, was impossible, and so I stopped and studied and inhaled the beauty of the choice. Because they both were fine and filled with the fragrance of flowers fair.
But upon closer observation, I saw an almost imperceptible distinction in the two, so slight that one, who was in a hurry, might have missed with their indifference and haste.
For one…one gave me pause and questions of why it sat just slightly less worn.
And as both shined so lovely in the autumn sun, I promised myself that I would someday return and see what the other path held. But wisdom whispered and reminded me how way leads on to way, and this my heart solemnly acknowledged.
And when the light of life begins to dim, I know I will share this moment…this choice…when I faced two paths, and after long contemplation, took the one that fewer had embraced.
And I will be able to say that it changed the way I lived my life.
This post, if you couldn’t already tell, was inspired by Robert Frost’s
taking the road less traveled changes not only our lives, but has more of an impact on those around us, and has more power to change the lives of others.
i love that poem, love your spin.
Those bumps in the road less traveled make one weary…
but strong.
Keep going, brave girl.

at the risk of sounding sappy and sugary-sweet, that's a powerful twist you've taken with that poem… and with this post. 😉
