Well, Look at you now,
you’re on top of the heap.
You’ve climbed up those stairs
and you’ve found some great peeps.
You’re bright and you’re shining,
you’re the cream of the crop.
And there’ll be no stopping
at the tip of this top.
Except when there is,
and you can’t make it work.
So you stop and you wait,
and you think till it hurts.
And you stand and you wear
a path on the floor,
but the flashes don’t come
As you pace back and forth.
And all of your peeps,
you see climbing the heaps,
They are shining bright stars
They are brilliant, they are!
And you’re first up in line,
to pat on their backs,
you give them high fives
and you smile and you laugh.
And then go back home,
to the unfinished you.
The you that is you,
that is what you must do.
And you’ll put down your head
and dream and you’ll plan.
You’ll work harder than hard,
to beat the brass band.
For all that you have,
is what you must give.
In this give and this take
In this life that you live.
And as you keep on,
you’ll see those you love,
patting your back
and singing your song.
So, no matter the twists
and the turns you must make,
going down, coming up,
there can be no mistake.
This you that is you,
it’s the number one stop.
Be YOU…in your mind,
and your strength,
and your heart.
