Summer is winding down, and the watermelons are getting scarce, but I wanted to share one of my favorite summertime treats. I originally shared this over at Keri’s from Shaken Together, but with all of the getting ready for school and other junk, well… I’m a bit lacking for material.
So, if you missed it the first time…here it is, complete with my top-secret ingredient! If you saw it and tried it, leave me a note in the comments telling me how you like it!
All you need is:
Cubed Frozen Watermelon and some Orange Juice.
But, herein lies the secret..
Lean in, now…
You have to use a half a can of Strawberry Bacardi Mixer. MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm…..
It’s ESSENTIAL.
{And, if, while the children’s backs are turned, you want to add a splash of vodka or tequila in yours, I promise, I won’t tell…}
And that is all… no measurements. Just pile in the Watermelon, add half a can of Mixer, and then pour in enough juice to make it slushy…
And if you are feeling really super-dooper nice that particular day, you can squirt on some whipped cream.
And your boys will thank you…
And your youngest might even say that he liked it “BIG TIME”.
Not sure about the girls. I don’t have any of those around…
And the best part? If your not a winner at picking lovely, sweet, red, ripe melons? Use them for Smoothies. We have them all summer long!
Wonder why?
i would like mine with a little coconut rum added in please. thank you!
Hmmm… that sounds utterly divine.
This looks so good! I’m pinning it.
Oh, thank you, Kelli!
YUM! I’m actually not a huge watermelon fan, but this sounds delish!!!
Thanks, Ali!
Cassie’s version sounds even bettah… mmmmm….
These sound delish! and I love that you’re using your little sundae glasses 🙂
I pinned it and added the ingredients to my shopping list. And I will not leave out the secret ingredient, or the whip cream.
