Just when I start thinking things never go my way, I’m smacked across the face with a Free Desk.
That’s right, my Bold ones…
I lost a dresser in our Church Yard Sale because I made a low bid, and don’t you know about 2 minutes before I drove up to snag that baby, a lovely woman offered more.
I know.
Cry me a river, right?
But, literally 2 seconds after I got home, the Good Lord took pity on me and the heavens parted and the angel choirs sang a glorious song and a FREE DESK popped up on our local Facebook Yard Sale group.
I hardly ever open that puppy up and look what my new friend, Mary {who is quite amazing, btw…she showed me her house and we talked as if we were old friends!} gave me…
FOR FREE…
I KNOW, RIGHT. I’M TOALLY SCREAMING WITH OVERFLOWING JOY HERE!!!
{there is a door to the left side, I just almost forgot to take a before shot because I was so giddy from the blessed aforementioned event that I was a bit overzealous in my desire to work some magic on this baby!}
But I digress…
I honestly fretted over what to do with the hardware.
I LOVE this hardware.. It’s original and super cool.
And when I posted on Instagram that I didn’t know what to paint the legs, my furniture painting guru, Cassie, mentioned Rub ‘n Buff.
Blurg.
I’d seen her use it and I’d seen my beloved Amy {whom the blogging world misses and is desparate for her return} use it, but for the life of me, I honestly didn’t know what it was…
And then I realized that if I, who adores painted furniture, didn’t know what Rub ‘n Buff was, then perhaps some of you didn’t either.
Ergo… this post.
Rub ‘n Buff… it’s a very interesting product.
It’s actually a wax that is infused with metallic pieces and pigments.
You can use your fingers to dab it on, and it actually dries pretty quickly.
And, best of all?
It makes your hardware go from an old, ugly worn out mess to a slap-yo-momma shining piece of metallic beauty, baby!
I got a little messy on the feet, and you can see it got a little clumpy…
But once inside the house, I took a soft cloth and buffed it up a bit and it looks much better!
Rub ’n Buff comes in a few different colors, so you can mix it up as easy as you please…
So, I just might be adding a Rub ‘n Buff addiction to my already existing obsession for aprons.
Is this crazy awesome product new to you or are you already a Rub ‘n Buff addict?
{Watch for the Desk reveal later this week… and, Holly, don’t spill the beans, girl! hehe}
And HERE IT IS! See the CHALKBOARD DESK MAKEOVER, BABY!
P.S. Did you see my post about Painted Pianos? Not everyone thinks you should paint pianos… what do you think?
