I have to be honest with you guys.
I have a love/hate relationship with my kitchen. I’m really not a big fan of my granite countertops. I like the granite part, just not the colors and pattern. I have dark cherry cabinets, which are fine, but the combination of the dark counters and dark cabinets makes my kitchen really dark. And I have only the one little window above my sink to let the light in. Light does come in from the dining room and the sliding glass door by the breakfast nook, but it’s still not as much light as I love. {like in my office}
But when my mind starts going down that path, I have to stop it. My kitchen is really nice compared to all of my previous ones. {think mice droppings and slanted foundations}.
So, the best thing I can do is to keep it clean. And the best thing I’ve found to clean it with {my sink} is a very simple and cost-effective method.
Baking soda.
Yup. That’s it. Just baking soda and water.
Baking soda is similar to the abrasive commercial cleaners available, like Comet, but much gentler. It’s a great odor absorber, too, which is a huge plus!
Here’s how to clean a stainless steel sink:
Just wet all the surface areas of your sink. Then sprinkle baking soda everywhere and scrub it down with a gentle sponge or a scrubbie pad like mine. I have a sweet friend from church that crochets these with nylon yarn and keep us stocked up with them.
Once you’ve scrubbed the entire surface, just rinse well.
And that’s it.
Simple. Cheap. Good for the environment.
