I’m such an Introverted Extrovert. Or an Extroverted Introvert. I’m not really sure.
What I mean is that I love a good party, but I also love to hide out under the covers for days all by myself and binge watch netflix read a good book. (which obviously really never happens because the children would revolt and beat the door down for food and hugs.)
So, as a blogger, I spend a LOT of time behind the computer screen a.l.o.n.e. and it can get lonely. When DecoArt offered to give me a fun day with my girls doing a Social Artworking Party, I signed up, got my nails done and grabbed a crew of like-minded, paint-loving girls to fill this extroverted need for a good paint fest!
Since Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, I chose the I Love You Because Chalkboard canvas.
We had lots of food and sat down for a few minutes to scratch that itch.
Then we cracked open the goodies from DecoArt. It was everything we needed… brushes, paints, templates, canvases and these super cool table top easels.
Everyone was thoroughly delighted!
First, we set up our canvases and painted the background.
Once that was dry (it only took a few minutes), we traced the design on the canvas using the template and the tracing paper included in the kits.
Then, everyone put their own stamp on their project! It was so fun seeing how each person was able to create a fun, unique canvas using the same template!
Someone mentioned gold paint, so I ran to my stash and grabbed some Dazzling Metallics in Splendid Gold. I also grabbed some DecoArt paint pens to help with the details on the arrows and other gold accents.
I haven’t had this much fun in ages! Being together with a group of creative women is so much fun.
And isn’t it fun to see how each canvas is just a little bit different?
We had a few girls that had to leave early, so I didn’t get an entire group picture, but here we are at the end of the party!
From Left to Right: Angie, Laura, Susan and Terri.
It was such a fun time, we were brainstorming our next creative party!
Thanks so much to DecoArt for sponsoring our party and this post. <3
Have you ever done a Social Artworking Party? Isn’t is about time?
