Ok. So I have something to confess.
This technique was a complete accident, but it turned out super coolio, yo.
And when that happens, isn’t is so much fun?
Here’s the back story…
I had this Giant Letter W in my office, but I wanted to use it on my Valentine Mantel.
How-evah… there was one slight problemo.
I had tried to upate it and it was not pretty. I’ll even go so far to say that is was quite ugly.
Here it is in the HOT Office before the disaster of an update.
And here it is after the UG-date.
See? Â Ugly-pants city, right?
I used what I thought was a soft grey to stencil it, but it came out looking slightly kin to a creepy brown rattlesnake. Â YIKERS.
And let me tell you, there will be no snake handling up in here.
So, what else to do but grab some white spray paint and have another go at it!
I only did one coat, because I noticed something super cool happened.
It covered the ugly brown, but you could still see the pattern!
Love lift us up where we belong…
I was happy.
Neato, huh?
So this is how to create a white textured pattern
- First paint your letter or surface.
- Then, stencil it.
- Then spray paint over it! Voila!
As you can see, I’m getting my Valentine Mantel all put together… Next I’m hanging the LOVE Chalkboards that I made.
It’s going to be earth-shattering… Can’t you feelz it?
Pin me for later, says the cool white textured pattern…
