But SOMEONE please tell me who in the devil “they” are…cuz “they” are really popular and, obviously, incredibly wise and know everythin’ ‘bout everythin’… Maybe, “they” can tell me why in the heck I’m allergic to Chrimmas Trees…
‘Cuz the stupid Grinch tried to roll up in here and steal my Christmas…
Anywhats… It’s all good. The tree’s on da porch…and, boys and girls, it’s purdy…all frocked out in white lights and sparkley doo-dads…
That was the original plan… Crazy swirly things and polka dots…like it came straight out of a Dr. Suess book.
Well, you dern Christmas Tree, I got my way anyway…so, there ya go…I’m the Heavy Weight Champion and you’re my, ummm…. never mind…
Easy, peasy, Lemon-Squeezy…
Step 1. Get over yur allergies and decide yur gonna make this tree sparkly anyhoo…
Step 2. Pull out those curly-cue glittery stick thingies and start to brainstorm…
Step 3. Make sure you start this project on the Dining Table RIGHT before yur sweet hubby makes dinner…{yes, ladies, that’s right…don’t hate me cuz I have a personal chef…}
Step 4. Pull those curly-cue glittery stick thingies apart cuz yur family will sooooooooo love ta have glitter everywhur…on the table, on their dishes, in their water and ALL OVER their hands and faces…
Step 5. Arrage the aforementioned curly sticks in a pleasant bundle…then realize their ain’t NO WAY that a piece of wire is gonna keep alla that mess together and MOVE it all into the Office whur yur glue gun is…
Step 6. Take a break cuz you have glitter up yur nose and dinner is ready…
{nope. not my actual steak, but a pretty good representation… minus the potatoes cuz we’re workin’ the slow carb thang}
Step 7. Pat yur tummy cuz it’s nice and full and then get back to Glitter-mania, man….
Step 8. Start with a small bundle and glue it all around the base…
Then, take some floral wire and wrap it around the glued area…
Little by little add a few sprigs, gluin’ and wrappin’
Repeat till you have yur bundle all incorporated…
Then totally forget to take a picture of it, cuz that’ll make you really happy when yur writin’ yur blog post.
You are so going to need to make a big poufy ribbon to go on top, so pull out that lovely ribbon you bought on sale for 50% off at Michaels…
Oh, and all of the sudden remember that:
A. You hate making bows…
B. They always look totally wonky and super ugly…
Then realize that, dernit, you don’t have one ‘a those miracle devices…
But, Miss Smartie Pants, you can make one really easily… Just take a look at how I made this one…
Here’s a picture…
So, when yur all done, tie it to the Dr. Suess glittery sticks and attach it to the tree-top…
Stick some of those left over doo-dads in the branches to give it a little blingidy-bling…
Hadn’t planned on havin’ a Christmas tree placidly perched on the porch, but, I am pleasantly pleased …
Have you ever had to make the best of a bad situation and it unwittingly turned out better than you even intended?
LOL Gwen! Your tree turned out so pretty – enjoy it behind the safety of glass 🙂
